Due to the increased number of strands (as compared to the 6 strand ropes) these ropes are more flexible, and at the same time, demonstrate high tensile strength and reduced friction between the outer wires of strands and the surface of block grooves.

These advantages extend the operational life of the rope and significantly reduce operating costs.
